Hey!0
I’m 48 years old today!
Library JetSometimes I feel like a Marf, sometimes I don’t.Thursday0My throat seems more sore today than yesterday, but I haven’t been using as much pain medication. There’s still the big lump where the thyroglossal duct cyst was, and my voice is still squeaky. The nurse said yesterday that it’s still pretty soon after the surgery to worry about it. As far as the hyperparathyroidism: I have not needed any Imitrex since the first day after I came home (yay!!) nor have I felt like I was on the verge of a migraine. My neck today0The skin where the wounds are itches like crazy, which I suppose is a good sign of healing. I want to scratch it to bits. My voice is better than it was yesterday — not as much squeaking. That means the swelling is going down some. I realized yesterday that if for some reason the swelling increased, I could suffocate. I’d have no way to breathe. But it’s not that bad now. I’ve spent most of today and yesterday getting this new blog figured out, and have been working on financial stuff. I had a conference call today, too. Been watching the birds. Grackles are shiny black pigs with wings. I filled up the birdfeeder this morning and it’s empty already! Only three grackles can balance on the feeder at once, but there were five trying to all get on at the same time today. It’s fun to watch them, even if they do inhale all the food from the finches. Hyperthyroidectomy and thyroglossal duct cyst surgeries1I’m going to have my neck cut twice this coming Friday. As I mentioned in the post below, “Fractured bones galore,” I have osteoporosis. I recently had some tests done, found out I have hyperparathyroidism. I also have an unrelated neck problem, a thyroglossal duct cyst. Tai Chi Day at York River State Park0
Fractured bones galore0This year so far has been full of bone fractures for me. I’ve fractured my right forefinger, my right big toe, my left wrist and my tailbone. I’ve got osteoporosis, and tests show I have hyperparathyroidism. I’ll get that fixed soon. |
