Fraud alert - Experian credit report
We (citizens) are allowed to have a free copy of our credit report from each of the three credit rporting companies (TransUnion, Equifax and Experian) every year, thanks to the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act (FACT Act) which says that consumers can request and obtain a free credit report once every 12 months from each of the three nationwide consumer credit reporting companies. However, you must not go through the credit reporting companies themselves — you must go through AnnualCreditReport.com. If you go through the Experian website and don’t read the fine print, a subscription will be charged to you at 9.95 per month. I swear that the fine print (which is much more clear now) was not there when I requested my credit report in April. I now see that there are charges to one of my credit cards for the monthy fee. They show up on my credit card bill as CICC CE Credit Manager or .

I called CIC CI, and they said they would reimburse me. We’ll see.
