Impromptu reunion brings former area women back to their place in history - PittsburghLIVE.com: "Following graduation from W&J [with the first class to accept women] with a bachelor's degree in English and French, Walls spent almost seven years in a variety of positions with Dravo Corp. She and Bill were married during that time, and Barbara received a master's degree in business administration from Duquesne University in 1980. In 1981, following her husband's graduation from Duquesne University Law School, the couple moved to Fort Dix, N.J., where he began a four-year hitch with the U.S. Army. Their children were born there -- Sarah in 1982 and Billy in 1984. The family settled in Eastampton, N.J.,and Barbara became, by choice, a stay-at-home mother.

'Billy was born with some significant orthopedic problems which required a great deal of time with doctors and therapists,' Walls said. 'I decided that my MOM degree took precedence over my MBA. As the children grew, I taught tole painting in a local shop and also spent several years as a teacher's aide at a private nursery school.'

The Walls returned to Pittsburgh in 1991 and settled in Wexford. It was a year later that Billy was diagnosed with Marfan's Syndrome following surgery for an aortic aneurysm, and again Barbara's career as a mother rose to the top of her priority list. ... "
