10:06 PM Were Einstein and Newton autistic? This article is not about Marfan per se, but about Asperger's syndrome. I have often heard that people with Marfan may have a slightly higher chance of having Asperger's syndrome. Asperger's syndrome has been classified as some sort of autism. What I find unfortunate is that this "syndrome" doesn't seem (to me anyway) to be anything that should be labeled as a disorder or a syndrome. The characteristics -- impatience with small talk, obsession with interesting topics -- seem to me to simply be characteristics, not symptoms of something bad. So people are different -- so what.
